My mixed media art quilt “98 souls” 24”x48” This documents my husband Craig’s commute three days a week, July 2023 to July 2024 from Silverbell/Sweetwater to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum and back. I asked him to record the soul’s loss that he witnessed dead on the road, and I honor them here. Small mixed media portraits and vintage metal frames, vintage glass flower beads signify the individual souls, lace from my mom, fabrics from Japan, and a lot of time and love. I hope you can see it in person at Kindred Spirits: Honoring Animals in Death with my brilliant heart sisters Amanda @amandastronza , Hannah @h.salyer, and myself.
